Florida Workers v. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Has Been Dismissed

There is an ongoing federal lawsuit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., which alleges that the retail giant violated workers’ rights in November 2012 when it disciplined workers for participating in protests. In a separate but related suit, associate counsel for the National Labor Relations Board called for the dismissal of charges against Wal-Mart. He wrote in a memo that the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) lawsuit against Wal-Mart should be dismissed, as the original charge was not valid since the two Florida workers who were fired would have been terminated whether or not they participated since they each had disciplinary issues prior to the protests.
